Are you having problems with the wires of your wall mounted TV?
One of the coolest things that you can do with your flat-panel LCD or plasma TV is being able to mount it on the wall. But even if you have the coolest TV in town, the image of tangled and exposed wires could ruin the beauty of it.
Wall mounted TV eliminates the need for an entertainment center or shelves and you’ll end up saving a lot of money. The seemingly wireless setup creates a more attractive surrounding that complements the high quality picture and sounds. Not only that, you will be able to free up some space in your bedroom or your family room.
Hiding the wires of your TV means preventing unwanted electrical accidents especially if you have kids around. Kids are naturally curious and they often touch things that are within their reach. Keeping these wires out of their sight is the best way to prevent them from getting hurt.
This TV was wall mounted in our customers bedroom. We had to lift floorboards and chase walls so that the cables could be hidden.
Dealing with the Wires of a Wall Mounted TV
There are three (3) ways that you can mount your TVs on the wall and manage to hide those pesky wires.
Run Cables through Walls
This requires you to cut two holes on the wall – one behind the TV and the other below it.
Installing an Outlet Behind the TV
This type of wall mounted TV installation also doubles as a cover of the outlet. However, this will not take care of the auxiliary wires for the DVD or the amplifier. If you do not have an existing outlet then you may need to install one.
Use a Cable Wall Cover
This is the easiest of the three. A cable wall cover is a relatively flat fixture that has a clear space underneath where you can run the cables. You can also paint it so it will blend with the colors on your wall.
