TV installation On a Brick Wall
Installing a flat screen TV on a brick or concrete wall is fairly easy; although the challenge lies in keeping the cables hidden. It’s easier if you are still constructing your home then you can put a conduit through the wall so you can easily hide those ugly cables away. You can request your contractor to built it into the brick so you can easily run the wires through it.
If your home is already built and no conduit is installed, you can still hide those wires by using a plastic raceway molding. Choose a molding that can blend into the concrete walls so you will still get that “clean” look. One other option is to buy a paintable ribbon cable so you can paint it later to match the color of your walls.
Some Plasma and LCD TVs either don’t have speakers or they only have token speakers. If you plan to use your TV to watch movies or if your TV is installed in your home theatre, consider getting high quality speakers to enhance the sound. You can mount the speakers on either side of the TV and you can install a few more extra speakers at the back of the room to obtain that surround sound.
