The TV: Its Early History
There are several noteworthy inventors who aided in the development of the television.
The earliest introduction of mechanical television dates back to 1873 through a proposal made by Willoughby Smith. The use of a scanning disk in 1884 was developed by Paul Gottlieb Nipkow.
It was in 1925 when Scottish inventor John Loigie Baird did the first public demonstration of the TV. This was done in Selfridge’s Department Store in London, where silhouette images in motion were televised as part of the demonstration.
Modern TV is patterned after the electronic TV demonstrated in 1927 in San Francisco. This used the designed made by Philo Taylor Farnsworth.
Today, the television has gone from primitive to fashionable, sleek and ultimately useful.
