How to program your SKY PLUS / HD remote to control a AV Amplifier or receiver
This is a fantastic and little known hack for your SKY Plus remote so you can control the volume and Mute of an AV Amplifier or home cinema receiver.
Please note that none of these procedures are support or endorsed by SKY in any way. Please do this at your own risk as we cannot be held responsible for damage to your equipment if any of these procedures fail.
Not all equipment is supported at present so please refer to the table below to see if your equipment is listed and to obtain the code.
Step 1 – Program the Remote
Hold Select & 0 until the LED flashes twice
Input the 4 digit code for your equipment (refer to table below)
(The LED should flash twice to confirm that the code has been accepted)
Press the left navigation button.
If this puts your AV amp into standby you have completed the process. If nothing happens, repeat the process and try an alternative code for your make of equipment.
Step 2 – Add in Volume Punch Through
This step is required so that you can continue to change channels on the Sky box and have the volume button control the AV amp / receiver volume without having to press the TV button each time you want a volume adjustment
Press TV
Hold SELECT and 1 until the LED flashes twice.
(if the LED only flashes once or remains lit then your remote version does not support this feature.)
