Do you need someone to fix your damaged LNB?We can help. We are an aerial company who does aerial and satellite installation as well as repairs on damaged aerials, cables and LNB. In fact, we recently dealt with a damaged quattro LNB from a vision IRS system in Stratford E15 in London.
What is an LNB?
An LNB is a low noise block downconverter. It is a device that is mounted on satellite dishes and they act as receiver of radio waves coming from the satellite. As soon as it is collected, the radio waves are being amplified and fed to the multiswitch so that it can be distributed to the different TV points. This device is often used in hotels, hospitals, block of flats or retirement villages.
A Quattro LNB (as shown in the picture) is different from the traditional LNB because what it does is it splits the signal into four outputs — vertical high, vertical low, horizontal high and horizontal low. The use of this device can have several advantages. It is very cost efficient. You can easily add more TV points by getting an additional multiswitch. And because it has several outputs, you only need one satellite dish to feed the entire hotel or block of flats.
Despite having all these advantages, a quattro LNB also has a few disadvantage. This device is only appropriate for large scale operations — one that will require you to have 8 or more satellite receivers. The installation and set up can be too complicated for a DIYer so it’s highly recommended that you hire a professional aerial installer to set up this device for you.
