How do you feel about having a wall mounted TV inside your home?
For years, MediaComs has completed several TV wall mounting installation projects. With our experience, there is no installation project that we can’t handle.
Our customer in Bishops Stortford wanted their TV wall mounted inside the playroom to keep it out of reach from their children. It was previously pulled and fell on the child. Luckily no one got hurt.
Safety in Wall Mounted TV
More and more people are falling in love with flat-panel displays which is lighter in weight and thinner compared to those old cathode ray tubes that are big and heavy. However, there is often a possibility that Plasma or LCD TV could topple over. It’s unfortunate that most of the victims are younger than 6 years of age. That’s because children of that age do not always recognize the danger of climbing over furnitures and pulling something off of it. Here’s how you can keep your kids safe while you enjoy your favorite TV shows on your flat screen TV.
1. If you need to mount your TV on an entertainment center, choose furnitures that have wide legs or those with solid bases.
2. Strap your TVs safely to the wall behind it or secure it on top of the furniture. You can get one of those earthquake straps or anti-top straps.
3. Avoid placing your kid’s toys on top of the furniture to keep them from climbing up to get them; and don’t let them out of your sight.
4. Consider wall mounting your flat screen TVs to keep it out of your children’s reach. It will also free up a lot of space giving the kids more room to run and play around.
