HD Video Distribution
High definition video distribution systems offer the ability to centralise your HD source components Sky+HD box, Blu-ray player, Apple TV, CCTV and distribute them around your home or business. The latest HDBaseT distribution systems allow both direct HDMI connection and distribution over coaxial cable or a single CAT6 cable, also known as UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pairs).
HD video distribution dramatically reduces the need for duplicate source components in multiple locations, meaning rooms can be decluttered of bulky AV equipment and only an HD TV, monitor or projection unit is required.
HDBaseT Matrix systems also support 100 mbps Ethernet, providing faster internet connectivity to each room as well as crystal clear HD images.
Mediacoms provide a range of high definition distribution solutions from a single HD extension for a second room to a whole home multiroom HD matrix system, all of which allow full control of equipment via IR.
Most HDMI whole home distribution systems come as a kit consisting of a main switch for the source devices and display receivers, commonly known as baluns. HDBaseT kits range from 4×4, (4 HD source devices to 4 different zones), 8×8 and 16×16 systems. Modular systems are also available offering a more customizable approach.
